Poached Pears with Fresh Mozzarella PDF Print E-mail
Ingredients
6 Pears PeeledSal_poach.jpg
3 cups red wine
1 cup water
½ cup orange juice
½ cup sugar
1 6.5oz container Fresh Mozzarella Medallions

Method
In a sauce pan over medium heat,
combine first 5 ingredients and
bring to a simmer. Cover the pears
with a cloth or kitchen towel to
prevent them from floating up.
Cook for about 20-30 minutes and
remove the pears from heat and cool.
Reduce the poaching liquid to a syrup
and cool. Slice the pears crosswise
and stack either vertically (as in the
photo) and shingle on a place. Spoon
the reduced poaching liquid over pears a
nd serve. Also tastes great with reduced
balsamic vinegar.
