Mozzarella with Figs and Prosciutto PDF Print E-mail
Appetizer platter for 6-8 people

Ingredients
8 fresh figssal_figs.jpg
8 oz thin sliced Prosciutto di Parma
1# Fresh Mozzarella
Aged Balsamic Vinegar

Method
This is a super easy appetizer to make
for a party or get together. To prepare
the figs, simply trim the top and then
cut an X down the middle of the fig
almost to the bottom. The holding the
fig from the sides, pinch the bottom of
the fig, which will cause the fig to
open up like a flower. Arrange the figs
randomly around a platter. For the
prosciutto, I always purchase prosciutto
from a deli counter and let them cut it
on their meat slicer. At home, peel
individual slices from the wax paper
and arrange on the plate around the
figs. Then with the mozzarella, just
tear off little chunks and scatter them
around the other ingredients. Finish by
drizzling reduced or aged balsamic vinegar
around the plate.
