Mozzarella and BBQ Beef Bruschetta PDF Print E-mail

Ingredients app_bbq_bruscetta.jpgRoast beef, thinly sliced   1 pound
Barbecue sauce    1 to 1 ½ cup
Mozzarella cheese, sliced, room temp. 1 pound
Olive oil     as needed
Baguette, sliced ¼ inch thick   16 to 20 pieces

For Sauce ~ makes about 2 cups
Ketchup     1 ½ cup
Cider vinegar     ¾ cup
Worcestershire sauce    ¼ cup
Soy sauce     ¼ cup
Brown sugar     1 cup
Dry mustard – ground    1 ½ Tablespoon
Chili powder     1 Tablespoon
Olive oil     1 Tablespoon
Lemon juice     1 tablespoon
Kosher salt     2 teaspoons
Fresh ground black pepper   ½ teaspoon

Method
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan; bring to simmer over medium heat. Cook until very smooth and shiny and thick. Adjust seasonings.
 
Assembly
Drizzle or brush bread slices with olive oil and toast till golden brown. Slice or dice roast beef and combine with desired amount of barbecue sauce. Heat beef and sauce in a pan till warmed through. Place a slice of mozzarella on each Bruscetta, then sauce. Repeat for all remaining components; serve hot, warm or room temperature.
